Biz Boyle

Biz Boyle has over 20 years of experience in the field of Design and Construction. After he completed a building course in 1988, he built his family home in Portobello Dunedin. In 1994 he established the construction business Top Notch Builders Ltd. His first design and build project was completed in the same year.

His first experience of designing solar passive eco houses was in 1997 when he was involved in the reconstruction of Luscar house, an 'off the main grid' residence located on the Otago Peninsula.

He studied for 1 year at Otago Polytechnics Department of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering in 2002 to acquire the skills for use of CAD in his designs and drawings.

Biz formed Eco Workshop as the sister company of Top Notch Builders Ltd in 2006 specialising in eco friendly solar passive designs.

For clients, he provides continuity from the first contact through to the design and documentation process as it evolves, and when Top Notch Builders are the construction company, project manages the plan through to completion.

Bevan Wood

Bevan Wood joined Top Notch Builders Ltd in 2004 after 4 years of training at Otago Polytechnic's Department of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering and progressed to Eco Workshop upon its formation in 2006.
Bevan brings to the company a strong sense of design theory.

His cad drawing skills, and 3D modeling abilities bring to life the aspirations of the client during the process of design and documentation. He has a passion for modernism.
